With the upsurge in interest in genealogy and local history, Sileby is embarrassed by the lack of decent historical material in print. There was a small series of historical pamphlets by Ray Hunting in the 1970's and various small articles in the now defunct Stockade Parish magazine, but very little else.

The 'Sileby Historical Record Series' is a programme of transcribing and publishing historical source material relating to the village.

Currently the project is involved with putting the Parish Registers of St Mary, Sileby into print. I also aim to publish various other classes of record such as probate wills and inventories to help both the curious and more serious researcher.

Sileby Historical Series 2 booklet is currently on sale at Sileby Post Office, Swan Street. SHRS 3 is available now priced £6.00. Small numbers of the the first booklet are still available from the author SHRS 4 will be avalible Soon.

They are also available for study at Sileby and Loughborough libraries.
